In the aftermath of the Melbourne feature races, several Formula 2 and Formula 3 drivers have been hit with post-race penalties for various incidents. The penalties have led to changes in the final standings, affecting the points awarded in both categories.

In Formula 2, Trident’s Roman Stanek received a five-second time penalty and two penalty points on his license for overtaking Campos Racing’s Kush Maini during the second Safety Car period. This dropped Stanek from 10th to 14th place in the final classification, allowing Van Amersfoort Racing’s Juan Manuel Correa to claim the last point.

PREMA Racing’s Oliver Bearman was handed a 10-second time penalty for failing to serve a previous five-second penalty he had received for forcing Rodin Carlin’s Zane Maloney off the track on the opening lap. This dropped Bearman from 15th to 17th place in the final standings.

ART Grand Prix’s Victor Martins also incurred a 10-second time penalty for causing a collision with MP Motorsport’s Dennis Hauger. The incident resulted in Hauger’s retirement from the race, and Martins fell from 16th to 18th place in the final standings. Two penalty points were added to Martins’ license.

In Formula 3, Hitech GP’s Luke Browning was given a five-second time penalty and two penalty points on his license for causing a collision with MP Motorsport’s Franco Colapinto. This demoted Browning from sixth to eighth place in the final results, promoting PREMA’s Paul Aron to sixth place and Campos’ Pepe Marti to seventh.

PREMA’s Dino Beganovic received a 10-second time penalty and two penalty points on his license for puncturing the right-rear tire of VAR’s Caio Collet. Beganovic dropped from eighth to 13th place, while Jenzer Motorsport’s Taylor Barnard and Campos’ Christian Mansell moved up to ninth and tenth positions, respectively.

MP’s Mari Boya was handed a 10-second time penalty, converted to a five-place grid drop in the next race, and two penalty points on his license for running into the back of ART GP’s Nikola Tsolov.

ART GP’s Kaylen Frederik will face a 10-grid position drop in the next race for driving erratically and colliding with teammate Tsolov during a Safety Car period. Frederik also received three penalty points on his license.

The post-race penalties handed down in Melbourne’s F2 and F3 feature races underscore the importance of adhering to racing rules and regulations. The penalties had a significant impact on the final standings, reshuffling the points awarded to drivers and teams in both categories.
